One word. Fall perfection.
Oops, I lied, that was two.
I love, love, love fall weddings. In my heart of hearts, I really wanted a fall wedding, not a spring one and if I could have it my way, I would cram ALL weddings into September and October. Can you tell fall is my favourite time of year? And this wedding was no exception.
I really enjoyed my time getting to know Rebecca and Jordie from their Engagement Session at Ambleside Beach to their spectacular wedding day. They are such a sweet couple with a wonderful network around them and it was a joy to feel so much a part of their special day.
It all started off at Rebecca’s childhood home in Burnaby and I have never seen a more glorious morning. It was crisp, the fall colours were strong and the sun was rising (yes, I started super early!) and I knew it was going to be a marvelous day. My sidekick for the day, Justine Boulin, spent some time at the hotel capturing the shenanigans of the boys.
The ceremony was at the lovely St. Francis de Sales Parish in Burnaby and we took some quick wedding party photos at the Burnaby Civic Center before hitting the lunch-time party. Gio Levy graced us with his beautiful voice (seriously people, this guy is amazing, check out his website!), guests ate and drank and Rebecca and Jordie’s kissing menu was hijacked by overly eager family and friends to see them smooch. All in all, it was a superb reception.
We ended the day with some couples portraits at Deer Lake, which is one of my personal favourite locations. If I could live there, I would. It’s never busy, it’s always serene and the colours in the fall are some of the best.
I hope you enjoy this last wedding of 2013! Thank you to Rebecca and Jordie for having me be a small part of your day and to all the family (especially all the parents!) for making us feel so welcome.
