Ugliest Birthday Cake in the World

It really was. And it didn’t look anything like the picture. I once thought that it would be awesome to have a career as a pastry chef and make beautiful cakes all day for gorgeous wedding affairs and such but after one look at this atrocity….well, let’s just say that’s not going to happen. It probably wouldn’t have been so bad if the the cakes didn’t stick to the bottom of the pan but they did, which made for an interesting icing experience.

But it did taste OK and the main thing was the fun my kid had as he tried to blow out the two candles. Neither my husband and I are really big celebration or events people but I am looking forward to more of this kind of thing as our son gets older and can have even more appreciation for it.

And also as an aside, this also tops off numbers 42 and 61 on my 101 in 1001 list!
